Back to School During COVID-19
The 2021-2022 school year has officially started! Heading back is a relief for most parents, but there is uncertainty due to the recent spike in cases. Since early last year, students converted to virtual learning, which proved to be a learning curve for students, teachers, and parents. Throughout the 2020-2021 school year, school systems worked diligently on developing safety protocols for students to return safely. This upcoming school year will see mandatory mask-wearing and social distancing introduced to ensure maximum safety for students. Unfortunately, the pandemic is still prevalent and does not seem to be letting up anytime soon. The delta variant has heavily impacted elementary-aged students. School systems are addressing outbreaks as they arise, but some families are still not comfortable with the risk of their children returning to school.
Check out these safety tips for families to practice as their children returned to school:
- Stay home if you are sick
- Clean and disinfect frequently
- Practice social distancing
- Wash your hands
- Wear a mask
